After twenty years as a cop, Carlos trusted his instincts. He could read a room before it turned, tell when someone was lying and make decisions with no time to think.

Now he's retired. The uniform is gone. His sons are growing up. And for the first time in a long time, he's not sure whether he lost those instinct or just the world that gave them meaning.
